First ski in 5 weeks

So yesterday I got to have my first ski since I stretched out my ligament, I was only allowed out for an hour and just for some 'light' and easy skiing but it was still very nice.  Hoping that I'll get to do more and more over the next week and that I can go back to work soon again.

Another winning logo design

Just found out the other day that another one of my logos won in a Freelancer contest. Very different style to the last one but that's also whats been fun about doing these competitions; figuring out a concept for the design, finding fonts, creating graphic elements, learning some new techniques and actually creating what you had in mind. For this particular logo they wanted a vintage style design.

New layout

Found this new template to give the blog a new look and have been tinkering with the CSS as well to customize it. I also made a quick logo to go with the new design.

Freelancer logo contest

So given that I can't work as an instructor at the moment with my busted knee I've signed up to do some freelance work on a couple of websites, hoping to get at least a few little projects in. This morning I got the news that one of my entries in a logo competition had won and I was awarded the project prize money. Definitely happy and motivated to keep going with this now! Below is the winning logo.

More physio

Very happy I got to start biking today at physio in addition to the electric stimulation, walking exercises and massage. Progress!!

Maybe this should be my standard outfit for skiing!

Feeling a bit fed up with being injured today and would really love to be out skiing in the sunshine instead. Trying my best to stay positive though and at least my physio has said that I'll be biking by the end of this week - which I interpret as one step closer to getting back on skis. I know that two injuries are never the same but the last time I partially busted my lateral ligament and meniscus (same ones) in 2009 I got to try skiing again after three weeks. I'm currently at 1,5 so keeping my fingers crossed that I'm on about the same schedule this time. Trying to not get my hopes up though in case I'm not. In the meantime I've created this composition in photoshop. I'm thinking storm trooper gear, albeit a bit much, would make excellent protective racing gear. What do you think?
