This weekend we drove to Aosta for a day out to cheer ourselves up a bit after a disappointing referendum result in the UK. We found the Nike outlet which had amazing deals on! It was 50% extra discount on the normal outlet price so I picked up 2 pairs of sneakers for 70€.  Normal price 237 so about 70% discount in total!! Crazy good! Will definitely come back if I need some more stuff! Being in Italy we also had to go for ice cream at a place called Gelaty and then we had dinner as well at restaurant IL Boccio. Both of which where great! I think we all agreed that it was enough food for a full day rather than for one meal!

Hike to le Biolley

Monday was the first day with good weather and perfect for this summer's first hike. Given that there's quite a bit of snow around still we decided to stay low and hike near the Villaret de Brevières. The map and signing wasn't quite clear so we did a bit more than we had intended to but we'd brought lunch and made a day out of it!

Catch-up post nr 2: Tignes and lots of cooking

Got back to Tignes a week ago now and it's been good to be back. Some quite cold and snowy weather seems to now have given away to summer warmth and sun. Fingers crossed it'll last.

Since we got back I've done quite a bit of new cooking; I've used the slow cooker we got from Ross grandmother Beryl twice now- spicy rabbit stew the other day and tonight's meal - pulled pork. I've also used one of the Simply Cook boxes that Ross' sister Anna ordered for us - a dish called Nyonya - and it was really good! So I've now got really high hopes for the other dishes.

There's also been a lot of baking including normal bread and this recipe for carrot cake which was great. I halved the cake recipe though and only used 1/4 for the frosting. But here is a link

Unfortunately with all this yummy cooking I still don't have a photo of  any of it. It all went down too quickly ;)

Catch-up post nr 1: The UK

Travelling to the UK, despite flying Ryanair wasn't too bad considering I did get a business class ticket, was first on and off, got a whole row to myself and didn't have to fight for hand luggage space. Well in the UK we had some time to catch up with friends and family which was great. We also went to Alton Towers which was good fun despite getting soaked. Favorites were Galactica, the Smiler and Thirteen.

So, lots of things going on since the last update. I've seen lots of family and friends, Ross was here for 10 days and now I've got just under a week left before I join Ross in the UK. But it's been a good kind of busy so I can't complain!
